Rainbow

There was a rainbow, so I opened the front door, and quickly captured it, before letting all the warm air out.
I am going to see my Mom, and will be back on Monday afternoon.

Merry Christmas to all, and greetings of the season!!!

Geranium Flowers

I forget what sort of a geranium this is,
but the flowers are so bright and cheery!!!

Hatpin

Another thing I dragged home from my Dad's basement. He had a bottle of hatpins, and I have aimed the camera at them a number of times, but this is the first image I have liked enough to share.
I still haven't cleaned them - it has only been seven months, and I kind of like the texture the years of grime add...

Apology

I want to apologize for abandoning you,
but I was so close to burn-out that I did not have anything to give.
But three days of no school (yes, I have homework, but not till the end of this week), I am feeling human again.
I captured this nepeta blossom the first week of November.

Old Photos

I found this family grouping while I was scanning photos yesterday. It was taken in 1926. Most of the photos from that time period are not dated.
My Mom is the little girl, and her brother. The ladies are a couple of great aunts, my grandmother, and great grandmother.

Cornfield in November

I was walking toward the cornfield,
and admiring how the sun worked its magic
on the dried leaves of the plants.
Not brown any longer,
but golden.
Add the frost on the tassels of the corn,
and the sun coming trough the silk,
and you truly have magic...
I am linking with Today's Flowers, so drop in for a visit.

Feather in the Wind

This feather was caught on the stem of a plant, but managed to dance in the wind anyway...

Update

Some of you may have heard me burble on about elder daughter being in Ethiopia, studying geladas.
They are kind of like baboons, but different.
She has finally been able to post photos on her blog here.
I have no idea what about them she is studying, or when she will be coming back to Canada, only that this is for her Master of Science.
My favourite of all the monkeys is the one in the hat, but I bet I am prejudiced.

Old Photos

I came across this photo of my grandmother and my uncle today, while I was scanning the photos from my Mom's side of the family. I think he was born in 1920. It is not a good image, but I love the expression on her face.
I am linking this post with Vintage Weekly.
