Teeth

I have made my very first model of a lower jaw. There are a few imperfections, but I made a couple of others, and will be making more next week. In a while, I will learn how to pretty up the model with a sander, and we will be using models to take impressions of teeth, and then make molds of them.
Won't this be fun?
And on Friday, I will take my very first x-ray of teeth!!
You can hardly wait, right?

Catch the Light

The dawn light catches some branches and leaves, and turns them golden.

Bur Cucumber

Last year, I could only find a couple of bur cucumber plants, and this year, the stuff is trying to take over the world...
The blossoms are so delicate,
and white, unless the setting sun gilds them.

School

I am having a hard time with school -
the whole change in routine, and then doubts about whether I can learn all this stuff.
I hate getting up before the sun,
and Annie is refusing to eat breakfast at such an ungodly hour...
I know that we will all adapt,
that I will learn...
but today is especially hard...

Nasturtiums

These nasturtiums are peeking through the fence
and the sunlight comes through them.

Round Things

I have been editing more of the photos I took
of the stuff my Dad had stockpiled
in the basement.
These are all round. I feel so Sesame Street...

Wild Sunflowers

There are four or five species of wild sunflowers
and I have never figured out which ones grow here.
I simply enjoy the yellow blossoms,
and share them with you.

Abstract

While I was in Woodstock, I saw these glass shelves from a bathroom cabinet, stacked beside the garage, collecting acorns and leaves.
I tried playing around with the colours, and I think they are quite abstract.

Old Photos

I was flipping through the photo albums I have here, waiting to be scanned, and this image caught my eye.
It is labeled 1937, nothing more.

Bees in the Chicory

This morning, I was watching a bee in the chicory blossoms,
and marveling at her coating of pollen!

Apples

While I was in Woodstock, I found an apple tree right beside the bridge,
so I could get close to the apples.
That was much more fun
than aiming straight up into the tree...

Update

Just to let you know what is going on in my world -
My Mom is doing a lot better. My sister took her out to get her hair done, then her newest great-grandbaby stopped in for lunch, and my bil took her for a drive.
Not all in the same day, but all in the same week.
She is alone in the house, but will be moving to a senior's residence next month, after they finish building it. She has care workers coming in often. She cracked her pelvis in 5 places, and a rib, in the accident last June.

And I am starting school tomorrow. (Today is a holiday in Canada.) I know I told you all about it last winter when the process was starting, but there have been delays, and more delays.
They still have not approved my funding, and I am having terrible anxiety attacks about it all.
But that will pass, right?
I am taking dental assisting, so I will be the person handing the dentist tools and wielding the vacuum next time you need a filling.

I don't remember if I told you about Jake's knee giving out on him, about the same time I had sciatica. I had to carry him home from a couple of walks before he quit using that leg. But I seem to be almost back to normal (a bit of a limp), and he is doing really well, putting most of his weight on that leg again, and going for walks under mile and a half again. He says he is ready to chase rabbits, but he is a whippet and born to chase.

So all is well in my world.
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers over the months.

Today's Flowers

I have no idea what sort of a plant this is, but I love the way the early morning sunlight is shining through it, and catching the spider web.
