Old Photo

This is a photo of my aunt from 1944, two days before she gave birth to my cousin.
Do any of you remember seeing a photo of an obviously pregnant woman from that long ago?
I remember all the fuss about Lucille Ball being pregnant and appearing on TV, and that was in the 60's, I think.

Golden Birch Trees

I took these a couple of days ago, before Hurricane Sandy came to call...

Crabapples

While we had sun, I was admiring the fruits of the flowering crabapple trees.

Borage

The borage is finished blooming for the year, but I have photos, so I can remember...

Friday's Fences

Walking along the new construction,
I found a pile of fencing which had been shoved out of the way.
I fell in love with the odd angles.
Then, I experimented with a number of filters on the computer.
To see more fences, visit Jan and Jer.

Skywatch Friday

It has been a wonderful week
for sunrises,

 not just the colours
 in the sky,
 but the reflected light
 on the walking sentinels
 and the trees.

Pegasus

I used this little glass Pegasus
and various objects in the background
to play with the concept of winged things.

NF Blo-Ma #22

Where there are dandelions blooming,
there are dandelions going to seed.
I continue to play with the filters in my processing program.
To see more flowers and macros, visit Nature Footstep.

Construction Site

They are installing some sewer work in the area where we walk, so we explored it Sunday, when there were no workers to chase us off.
The pipes come in two sizes,
but the views through them are so different.

Jake

Jake is also 12, so he and Gloria are the twins. I always wanted to have twins. He is a whippet, but his joints are starting to bother him, and he has a more or less permanent limp now.

Gloria

Gloria is the cat we have had the longest - 12 years now. She used to be the climbingest cat, so we named her after the morning glory.

Broken Glass

I found this glass ball and some of the chips of glass on the road. I think the last capture is my favourite. So far...
I am linking this with Inspiring Photography at Nature Footseps.

Leaving the Light

I saw this duck swimming in the reflected light of late afternoon.

Beaver Dam

I found a small beaver dam
on one of the unnamed streams.

NF Waters

There are geese in the pond again,
 and that means feathers,
 often with dew drops.
