Watery Wednesday

It's been very cold out, so I have not been walking a lot. This is the closest to watery photos that I have been this week - the smoke or steam from a furnace down the street, backlit by the morning sun.

Macro Flowers Saturday

I brought some forsythia branches inside last week, and they have started to bloom.
I have done it for years, but the cheery yellow blossoms never fail to amaze me.

Skywatch Friday

Okay, so blue sky may not be a big deal where you are, but here, it has been gray for so long that some people were starting to forget what the colour blue looked like.
Today, when the temperature hit 5 above freezing, coats were left in cars, and people were just soaking up the rays.

Clementines

While eating my morning clementine,
 I started examining the fruit,
and one thing led to another...

Hydro Pylons

I was looking at the hydro pylons this morning, while walking the dogs.
There is a stark beauty to them that I have never noticed before.

Yellow Roses

A bouquet of three yellow roses
was in front of the altar at church,
 in memory of Bev.

Stylish Blogger Award

Lorac, has given me the
and now I have to tell you five of my favourite things.
To start with, there is photography,
and then the twins, Gloria and Jake. Neither of them look like me, because they were adopted.
Then there is Annie, the noisemaker,
and the newest addition is Miss Kitty.
Now I am supposed to nominate five bloggers whose work I enjoy, but I cannot shorten the list, so I will nominate everyone. Please, share the award and your five favourite things with us.

Watery Wednesday

Yesterday, a lot of this was running water, but the temperature dropped 20 degrees in less than 12 hours,
 and now it is frozen.

Today's Flowers

They are selling daffodils in the grocery stores now.
I was having trouble with the light in this store.

Snow

I was struck by the tiny shadows in the snow,
the shadows cast by the snow itself.
And the sparkles in the bright sunlight.

Birchbark

I love the way birchbark
 peels off the trees.
People pull the bits off, where they can reach,
so I have to shoot up into the trees.

Chickadee

The chickadees are fed at a lot of the trails around the area.

Macro Flowers Saturday

The pine trees are preparing their cones for next year.
I am not sure of the timing of the process. Maybe I will remember to pay attention to it this year.

Deer

After work yesterday, I went for a walk on a nearby trail that does not allow dogs.
I found that people have been feeding the deer long enough that they allowed me to get within 20 feet of them.
I stayed on the trails, and moved slowly, in any case. Gave them their space.
There were a couple that were smaller and fluffier than the others, so I assumed they were fawns.
